Yona Yahav's Welcome Party - February 18, 2004

FLORIDA-ISRAEL INSTITUTE together with the Honorable Jim Naugle, Mayor of Fort Lauderdale, & Greater Fort Lauderdale Sister Cities Haifa Committee hosted a party welcoming Haifa's new mayor, Mr. Yona Yahav, at 'Mezzanotte', at Las Olas Riverfront in downtown Fort Lauderdale.

The Israeli team also included Rivka Yahav (the mayor's wife), Danny Neuman (Presdient of Haifa-Foundation) and Dr. Amnon Rofe (Director of Bnei Zion's Hospital) Also were present at the event: Ilene Liberman (Broward County Mayor), Miki Arbel (Consul General of Israel to Florida & Puerto Rico ), Nancy Rosen (Sister Cities Haifa's Chair and director of the Florida-Israel Institute), Marvin Chaney (President of Greater Ft. Lauderdale Sister Cities), Nuccia McCormick (Chariman of Ft. Lauderdale Sister Cities), Norman S. Edelcup (Sunny Isles Beach's mayor), Nancy Goldberg (2002's Chair of Sister Cities Israel),Gary Siepser (CEO of United Jewish Community of Broward County), & Gregory Von Hausch (Director of Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival).
