| As part of the ‘Israel in Context’ lecture series, we hosted Professor Amatzia Baram. While in Florida, he gave a lecture on ‘The Iraq Complex’ at FAU Davie Campus on Sep.12. 2003. Professor Baram was the senior Fellow at the US Institute for Peace (1997-8), and the chair of the department of Middle Eastern History at the University of Haifa. His research focuses on the political, social, economic, and cultural history of the Ba’ath regimes of Iraq and Syria. He is also a guest researcher at the USIP in Washington DC and an advisor to the US government. The “Israel in Context” lecture series was made possible by FAU, BCC and a grant from the Executive Office of the Governor. |
